Frequently Asked Lighting Questions
The cost associated with operating the average installation is very minimal. It would add less than $5 to your monthly electricity bill on average.
No. All wires required for your system will be buried underground, so you will not be at risk of damaging them during lawn and garden maintenance activities. If we are required to run wires across your turf, we will create a very small trench, insert the wires, and close up the opening. If we are doing this through a particularly vulnerable area, we use conduit to protect the wire.
Moon Glow uses extra-low voltage systems that are significantly safer than your average in-home voltage of 110 volts. Extra-low voltage systems pose no shock risk, even if cables are damaged. An additional benefit of extra-low voltage systems is that they require less hardware and wiring so they are more discrete.
Yes. Moon Glow ensures that their installations meet the standards set forth by the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) and fulfills the requirement to pass inspection. Additionally, we only install fixtures and transformers that are CSA, CuL or ETL approved.
The low voltage fixtures emit a soft glow that is angled specifically to enhance the evening atmosphere in your own property. Your system will not be obtrusive to properties surrounding you, and you will be able to enjoy your property glowing under a black sky.
An average installation can be complete in two to three days, with no interruption or repairs required to your landscape.
An installation starts at $4,000 because we treat every property as unique, price will vary from system to system. This includes design consultation, installation of high quality fixtures with excellent warranties, and programming and training for your new system. We are dedicated to bringing your dreams to reality!
Your custom system will be programmed to automatically turn on and off when you would like it to. The settings are also easy to override, so you are able to spend more time into the evening in your outdoor living space without difficulty if you desire.
You can continue to enjoy your system right through the winter. Many of our clients comment on how much more they enjoy the look of their lighting in the Winter months.
A consistent goal of our lighting designers is to create a plan that has no light waste. This includes unneeded spill of light to neighbouring properties, but can also have a negative impact on our natural dark skies.

We offer a rental program where we provide the lighting materials, install, remove and store them. This means that we are responsible for any failed products or issues that may arise such as strands falling down. Initially we provide pricing based on a three-year rental agreement. If a client wishes to continue after three years, the price will stay the same on a year-over-year renewal basis
Our standard-sized LED bulb strands are custom-cut to your roof lines.
